OUR HISTORY

Ryan International School, Rohini, was founded in the year 1992 by Dr. Augustine F. Pinto, Chairman of Ryan and St. Xavier's Group of Schools, who was Sheriff of Mumbai in 2000. During its infancy, the classes were conducted in bungalows in Prashant Vihar. In 1998, the school shifted to Sector 25, Rohini.

The school is now strategically situated in sector 25, Rohini on a four acres of land. Ryan Rohini- a beautiful spacious, airy piece of architecture has now come to be a noted landmark in the area. Apart from the usual classrooms and activity rooms, the school now, boasts of high-tech labs, a sports ground, a skating rink, a spacious library, an amphitheatre, an auditorium with a swimming pool. There are many other ambitious plans, to further enhance our infrastructure, which would soon be written about.

A child's mind is like a piece of marble, which a sculptor shapes into a beautiful work of art. We aim at providing quality education to our students irrespective of caste, creed or colour. Like a mother bird that takes pain to teach her young ones to fly, it is our quest to groom each child and dedication and care and develop them according to their potential.

Activity-based Education

The initial years should develop in the child a love for education and create conditions for him to pursue a positive approach in life.

So a 'unidirectional' teaching method is being increasingly substituted by a 'multidirectional group workshop' method. Here the teacher becomes the group coordinator, nurturing students without the phobia of examinations and homework. The attempt is to prevent school from becoming torture chambers and to make the educative process more participative and enjoyable.

The emphasis is to reduce written work and concentrate on the physical, mental and emotional growth of children to make them self-reliant and develop effective personal skills. We hope to develop positive individual traits and styles of behavior in them rather than producing mere clones in the society.

It is practical education that ultimately remains after one has forgotten most of what was learnt in school and college. Cultivation of all three dimensions of the mind, body and soul is education in the real sense of the term.

At Ryan each child is a unique individual, a multifaceted personality and care is taken to see that each child is able to blossom into a full grown flower, spreading its fragrance all around.

Children with special talents are provided opportunities, moral support and facilities needed to realize their full potential. Appropriate measures are taken for children suffering from dyslexia and other learning disabilities.

Thus along with academics, due importance is given to the mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, psychological, creative and artistic dimensions of the child.

Ryan International School, Rohini has been achieving ever greater excellence in every sphere of a citizen's growth for 15 years, under the able guidance of Chairman, Dr. Augustine F. Pinto and Managing Director, Mrs. Grace Pinto.
